Miscellaneous > Internet Merch
December 5th, 2025

You and your beloved probably have some internet-based creators you both enjoy. A YouTube series, or a podcast, maybe even a webcomic. Those creators probably have merch, and your recipient is predisposed to like it.
A couple of ours have books out this Christmas. Great Art Explained makes calmly insightful art videos, free of gurning and whats-up-guys. There’s a coffee table book with the same title.
The other is Map Men, who also have a book. This one seems more in the “breezy read” category, so maybe a good pre-holiday gift.
I’ve received prints by False Knees before, and like them. Books of the standalone story arcs are also available. (If internet bird comics are your recipient’s thing, then Rosemary Mosco has also written several books.)
T shirts and posters are commonly available, but I would avoid them. I don’t think fondness helps so much with shirts & posters. The design needs to be appealing on its own, and also subtle. This is tough to pull off. Similarly, I’d avoid any premium subscriptions. If I get a book and never read it, I’ll tell myself “some day”. But an unused subscription feels like I’m frittering someone else’s money away.
Anyway. The point is not “buy these specific items”; check your shared YouTube channels to see if they’re offering anything good.
